Kitchen Appliance Measurement & Specification Guide

Measure the actual appliance and the cabinet opening it needs, but use the manufacturer’s installation specification whenever a model number is known. Nominal labels such as “36-inch fridge” do not replace required clearances, ventilation or door-swing information.

QUICK ANSWER
  • Collect brand and model number first
  • Record width, height and depth plus required opening
  • Check door swing, handles and adjacent walls
  • Record utility type and connection location without doing unsafe trade work
