Cabinet quality is more than a door colour. This guide shows the box materials, door cores, edge treatment, drawer construction, adjustable legs, toe-kick details and documentation references used across our cabinet program. The exact product page and selected variant are always the source of truth for a specific cabinet.
Cabinet box materials
Our frameless RTA system is offered with more than one cabinet-box material. That matters because the box material and the door material are separate choices.
3/4-in particle-board box
The supplied cabinet documentation specifies an industry-standard 3/4-in particle-board panel for the box program. It is designed as a practical, cost-effective cabinet core and is finished with protective surfaces and sealed edges.

Multi-layer plywood box
Plywood is available on compatible cabinet products. The supplied plywood reference shows an 11-layer panel construction. Because cabinet programs can vary, we do not apply that specification to a SKU unless the product/variant confirms it.

Door materials are series-specific
A white Shaker door, slab door and high-gloss door can use different core materials even when they fit the same cabinet box. We list door construction separately so you can compare finish and material instead of guessing from appearance.
HDF door programs
Supplied RTA documentation identifies High-Density Fiberboard (HDF) for applicable door programs. HDF is an engineered fibreboard used for smooth, consistent cabinet-door surfaces. Do not assume every door in the store is HDF.
Other door families
Depending on the collection, door construction can include particle-board/melamine, HDF with lacquer or wrap finishes, and MDF/PET programs. The finish name and the core material are shown separately in our door-style specification guide.
Construction details that affect daily use
PVC edge sealing
The supplied construction documentation describes PVC edge treatment intended to leave edges smooth and help protect panel edges. Sealing-strip thickness can vary by visible and non-visible surfaces.
Metal drawer system
The documented RTA range includes metal-sided drawer construction. Drawer hardware, slide type and soft-close functionality should be confirmed on the selected product.
Adjustable base legs
Documented base cabinets use heavy-duty adjustable plastic legs so installers can compensate for floors that are not perfectly level before the toe kick is fitted.
Toe-kick protection
The supplied specification shows a 3/4-in toe kick with sealed edges and a protective rubber layer at the bottom on the documented program.
Standards & documentation — without badge confusion
Supplier documents shared with us reference quality-management, environmental-management, restricted-substance and product/conformity standards. A logo can apply to a factory, panel producer, component, test scope or production period—not automatically to every finished cabinet. For that reason, we present these as documentation references, not as blanket certification claims.

Cabinet material FAQ
Are your kitchen cabinets plywood or particle board?
Both options are available across the cabinet program. Many products offer particle-board construction as the standard/value choice, while plywood is available on compatible variants. Select the box material on the product page.
Are the cabinet doors HDF?
Some documented door programs use HDF, but not every door style does. Other series can use particle-board/melamine, HDF with different finishes, or MDF/PET construction. Review the door-style specification before ordering.
What does 3/4-inch cabinet construction mean?
The supplied particle-board box documentation specifies 3/4-in panels for the cabinet box program. Thickness is only one part of cabinet construction; edge treatment, back construction, hardware, drawer system and installation also matter.
Do the cabinets have soft-close hinges and drawers?
Soft-close is included where stated on the selected product. Because accessories and cabinet programs vary, the product specification should be used instead of assuming every item has the same hardware.
Are the cabinets certified?
We keep certification language specific. Supplier documentation can reference standards such as ISO, RoHS, NSF, CE or composite-wood emissions requirements, but the scope can apply to a supplier, facility, component or production period.
