Measure the walls. We’ll handle the cabinet math.

You do not need cabinet codes. Record the full wall lengths, appliance widths and where doors/windows interrupt each wall.

Straight Kitchen

Measure the full cabinet wall from end to end.

Enter: Wall A

L-Shaped Kitchen

Measure each wall from the shared inside corner outward.

Enter: Wall A + Wall B
ABCTwo inside corners

U-Shaped Kitchen

Measure left return, back wall and right return as three full wall lengths.

Record these measurements

  1. Full wall lengthsMeasure finished wall to finished wall or wall end.
  2. Doors and windowsRecord width and distance from the wall start/corner.
  3. AppliancesRecord refrigerator, range and dishwasher widths. Measure the actual unit when possible.
  4. Ceiling & bulkheadsFloor-to-ceiling height plus any soffit/bulkhead depth and height.
  5. Sink/plumbingMark the approximate sink centre and plumbing wall.
