Buying guide & specifications — Base Cabinets

Shop frameless RTA base kitchen cabinets in Ontario for kitchen renovations, islands and complete cabinet layouts. Choose common cabinet widths with available particle-board or plywood box construction and compatible door styles and finishes. Options include standard base cabinets, full-height bases, drawer bases, sink cabinets, appliance cabinets and specialty storage.

Ordering base cabinets: confirm the finished wall dimensions, appliance widths, fillers, finished end panels and corner conditions before ordering. Standard base cabinets are designed to work with a finished countertop above, so your complete run should be planned as a system rather than cabinet-by-cabinet.

Base cabinet sizes available

Current standard base cabinets in this collection are 30 in. high and include 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36 and 42 in. widths. Narrow full-height base options also include 6 and 9 in. widths. Product codes, available configurations and current pricing on each product page control the exact item you order.

Cabinet Size / Type Planning Use Buying Considerations
12–21 in. standard base cabinets Narrow storage and smaller remaining spaces in a cabinet run Confirm usable wall width, door clearance, fillers and neighboring appliances
24–30 in. standard base cabinets General counter-height storage in perimeter and island runs Plan the complete run before selecting widths so corners and fixed appliances remain reserved
33–42 in. standard base cabinets Wider storage zones where the layout provides sufficient room Check front clearances, adjacent cabinet doors and the finished countertop plan
6–36 in. full-height base cabinets Door storage where a top drawer is not required Confirm the exact cabinet code and door configuration before ordering
Specialty pull-out / waste base Purpose-built storage such as spice pull-outs or waste storage Verify exact cabinet code, usable opening width and adjacent handle or appliance clearance

How to plan a base cabinet run

Start with fixed conditions rather than filling the wall with standard cabinets first. Mark corners, range or cooktop location, dishwasher opening, sink and plumbing zone, refrigerator or tall cabinets, and any required wall fillers. Then use standard base cabinet widths to complete the remaining run. This reduces the risk of a nominal cabinet layout fitting on paper but failing because door swing, appliance clearance or wall conditions were not reserved.

For dedicated storage and appliance openings, compare drawer cabinets, sink cabinets, corner cabinets, and tall and pantry cabinets. Match each choice to the measured layout and verify the exact product specifications.

Common base cabinet questions

What size base cabinet should I order? Use the cabinet width that fits the completed kitchen plan after fixed appliances, corners, sink and dishwasher zones, fillers and finished panels have been reserved. Do not choose cabinet widths from wall length alone.

Are base cabinet dimensions the same as the finished countertop height? No. Cabinet dimensions describe the cabinet itself. Finished counter height also depends on installation conditions, cabinet support or levelling components and countertop thickness.

Should I choose particle board or plywood before building my cabinet list? Yes. Keep the intended construction and door finish consistent while building the cabinet list, then verify that every required cabinet code is available in that configuration.
