How to Read Your Kitchen Cabinet Plan & BOM
Read the 2D plan, elevations, 3D view and bill of materials as four representations of the same kitchen project. A cabinet highlighted in the plan should correspond to the same cabinet family/code in the elevation and BOM row.
QUICK ANSWER
- 2D plan = wall position and run relationships
- Elevation = front view by wall
- 3D = spatial orientation, not a substitute for dimensions
- BOM = quantity, code, description, size, finish, construction and price where resolved
- Use the same cabinet code to trace an item across views
