Kitchen Planning & Editorial Standards | ShopKitchens
ShopKitchens Kitchen Guides are created to help homeowners, contractors and renovators understand cabinet planning, materials, measurements, kitchen layouts, installation considerations, cabinet components and related kitchen products before making purchasing decisions.
Who prepares ShopKitchens Kitchen Guides?
Guides are prepared and reviewed by the ShopKitchens Kitchen Planning Team using information from the ShopKitchens cabinet catalogue, product specifications, kitchen-planning workflows and common questions that arise when customers are measuring, comparing or ordering kitchen products.
What our guides are designed to do
Our goal is to answer practical questions clearly before the reader has to request a quote. Topics can include cabinet sizing, RTA and assembled cabinets, box materials, door styles, upper-cabinet height, corners, pantry storage, fillers, panels, cabinet refacing, measurement and countertop planning.
Whenever possible, a guide begins with a direct explanation and then covers the decisions, measurements or tradeoffs that affect the answer. Relevant cabinet collections, planning tools and related guides are linked so readers can move from research to a project-specific cabinet list.
How product and project information is handled
Kitchen dimensions, appliance requirements and site conditions vary from project to project. General guides should not replace field measurements, appliance installation specifications or final project verification. Before cabinets or countertops are ordered, the actual room, selected products and required clearances should be confirmed.
Prices, product availability, materials and service availability can also change. Current product pages, written quotations and project-specific confirmations take precedence over general educational content.
How we review and update content
Kitchen Guides may be revised when the cabinet catalogue, planning tools, product specifications or customer questions change. We also improve internal links when new planning resources are published so related information remains easier to find.
Need a project-specific answer?
If a guide does not resolve a question about your actual kitchen, use the kitchen measuring guide and send your measurements, photos or drawings for review. You can also browse frameless kitchen cabinets and the full Kitchen Guides library.
